Drillz and Skillz traveled to Sincelejo and Cartagena Colombia in March and April of 2010.
After flying into Cartagena, on the Caribbean coast, we bussed 3 1/2 hours southwest into the Colombian department of Sucre. The city was founded in 1535. The weather was scorching with the average temperature of 100 degrees. Equally hot was their love for basketball. We did skills clinics for 60 kids and coaching clinics for 15 coaches.
From Sincelejo we traveled back to the coast for a coaches clinic in Cartagena. A beautiful city with great beaches (and that is coming from someone who lives in Miami), Cartagena is internationally known as a tourist destination. They had a great basketball facility and coaches that were eager to learn.
The food and the hospitality were memorable.
